If you want to keep getting my emails, please read this.

Hello friends,

It has been a very long time since I wrote to you and I’ve missed it. I’ve missed the reflection of sitting down to write thinking ‘What have I seen or learned that might be useful’? I’ve missed the messages I get from you in response to my writing. I’ve missed the conversation.

So I’m going to start writing again (though no promises about how frequently), and I need to know whether you still want to get my writing by email.

After I send this email, I’m shutting down my existing mailing list and starting afresh, so if you want to come with me, you need to click here to opt in to get my writing in the future.

Why? Basically, I’m closing down my current mailing list and starting a new one. It feels time for a fresh start. When I started writing this blog in 2005 I was living in Afghanistan, and writing about what I was seeing and experiencing there. More than a decade later, I’ve written about coming home, and finding a new identify for myself outside of humanitarian work. I’ve written about the process of writing, and publishing my memoir. I’ve written about yoga, and the importance for me of developing practices of self-awareness and self-care.

What I want to write about now is how we can create the change we want to see in our communities and our world – through activism and advocacy, through storytelling, through self-awareness and practices of conscious action, through connection and collaboration.

So if those conversation interests you, I hope you’ll click here to keep getting my writing delivered to your inbox, and hopefully we’ll continue this conversation for another decade!

I’ve also closed down all my online courses, although you can still get instant download versions of my 30 Days of Courage course, and of the Beginners, Busy People and Standard versions of my 30 Days of Yoga course. If I ever create any new courses, the best way to find out about that, or about retreats and events, is to sign up for my new mailing list.

If you don’t want to get my writing delivered to your inbox anymore, I totally understand. Email can be pretty overwhelming these days. You might prefer to get updates either on Facebook or on Twitter. If getting less information would be the most healing and nourishing choice, this is a great moment to opt out. I promise, I won’t mind.

If you are sticking around, look out for some new writing soon! Either way, lots of love,

Marianne
